Scott and Kiesel Post Big Nordic Finishes to Pace Montana State Skiers

The Bobcat Nordic contingent accounted for one-hundred of MSU's 165 points scored on Friday.
With one event remaining, New Mexico leads the team standings with 428 points, followed by Colorado 396, Nevada 371, Denver 371, Utah 345, Alaska-Anchorage 341, MSU 251, and Whitman 161.
Scott led the MSU men in the 10K classical with a time of 27:51.6. Also scoring points for the Bobcats were Bernhard Roenning, 13th, 28:20.4; and Gunnar Kristiansen, 27th, 29:15.8.
Kiesel, who has been Montana State top skier all season, posted a clocking of 16:07.9 in the 5K race. Also placing in the top three for the Bobcats were Claire Rennie, 20th, 16:43.6; and Casey Kutz, 23rd, 16:48.2.
The MSU alpine team was also in action with the giant slalom events.
The Bobcat women were led by Carmel McElroy, who placed 15th with a two-run total of 2:02.82. She was followed by Hannah Victory, 24th, 2:05.85; and Megan Bacharach, 30th, 2:13.31.
MSU's top three on the men's side included Paul Britvar, 21st, 2:04.36; Alex van Roon, 26th, 2:05.09; and Toby LaMar, 29th, 2:05.78.
The championships will conclude on Saturday with the Nordic freestyle races.
