Montana State Skiers Finish 18th at NCAA Championship

Rennie, a native of Ottawa, Canada, covered the course in 39:53.1, just missing All America honors by three places.
Sophomore Kaelin Kiesel finished 24th overall in 40:49.4. Rennie and Kiesel combined for 43 points, the ninth best women’s performance in freestyle, behind Dartmouth, who posted 113 points.
Denver’s Antje Maempel won the women’s title in 38:35.0.
The Bobcat men had another tough outing in the final event of the championship. Anders Folleraas finished 34th overall finishing the 20K race in 47:51.4. Also contributing for Montana State were Bernhard Roenning, 35th, 48:06.0; and Ryan Scott, 37th, 48:57.7.
Colorado’s Vergard Kjoelhamer captured the men’s title in 44:07.9
Denver won its second straight team championship with 659 points. The NCAA Western Region/RMISA dominated the standings as CU placed second with 602.5 points, followed by New Mexico 602, Alaska-Anchorage 584; and Vermont, 573, in the top five.
Montana State posted 85 points in two events.
