Bobcat Tennis Players Earn Final Big Sky Player of the Week Kudos

Montana State's Jakub Dybala claimed the final men's Tennis Player of the Week award of the 2009 season. He was awarded for matches played the week of April 14-21 and has received the honors twice season.

Dybala and Montana State improved to 5-2 in conference play last week with a pair of home wins over Idaho State and rival Montana.

The Bobcats close out the regular season on Thursday afternoon against Sacramento State. Montana State has already secured a berth to the Big Sky Tournament and will be the No. 3, 4 or 5 seed depending on Thursday's result.

The native of Lodz, Poland edged Idaho State's Alex Buceta 6-4, 6-3 at the No. 2 singles on Friday. He teamed with Pawel Turzanski at the top doubles spot for an 8-3 win over Javier Royo and Ross Dechant. The Bobcats beat the Bengals 7-0.

In the team's 4-3 win over Montana on Sunday, Dybala defeated Mikolaj Borkowski 6-3, 6-4 in singles play. The senior also notched another doubles victory with Turzanski. The duo beat Borkowski and Carl Kuschke 8-1 at the No. 1 spot.

Jasper, a native of Bozeman, Mont., helped the Bobcats secure the No. 2 seed to this year's championship with wins over the Bengals and the Wildcats last week.

She went 4-0 at the No. 1 singles and doubles spots.

The sophomore beat Weber State's Keya Jenkins 6-1, 6-0 in singles, after teaming with Missy Harris for an 8-5 doubles win on Friday. She turned around to knock off Idaho State's Lisel Lewis on Saturday 6-3, 6-0. Jasper and Harris also shut out the Bengals top doubles team in that win.
