
Youth Movement Lead Montana State Skiers at MSU Invitational

The Montana State ski team received strong outings from a pair of young racers who helped pace the Bobcats in the second day of its own MSU Invitational, Saturday at Big Sky and Bohart Ranch.

The
Tyler Reinking, a sophomore redshirt, led the MSU Nordic squad with his second top 10 finish of the meet. Reinking placed eighth in the men's 10-kilometer race covering the course in 25:39.66
Also recording points for the Bobcats were Ryan Scott, 12th, 26:08.82 and Bernhard Roenning, 16th, 26:34.88. Other MSU finishers included Drew Scott 18th, Luke Bromley 24th, Hans Nygren 25th, and Tyler Wright 30th.
Finishing second and third for the Bobcats were freshmen, Geoff Irwin, 28th, 1:47.6; and Chris Barber, 30th, 1:48.1

In women's action, Rachelle Kanady paced the Nordic squad finishing 13th overall covering the five-kilometer event in 14:53.10. She was followed by Kaelin Kiesel, 16th, 14:58.02; Casey Kutz, 17th, 14:59.71;
In the women's giant slalom race, the Bobcats were led by Amy Lattimer, who finished 27th with a two-run clocking of 1:53.1.
Lattimer was followed by Carmel McElroy, 29th, 1:54.4; Ali Leighton, 31st, 1:55.5; Terra Moran, 32nd, 1:56.3; Taylor Verdun, 34th, 1:59.5; and Megan Bacharach, 35th, 2:08.2.
The MSU Invitational will conclude on Sunday with the men's and women's slalom races at Big Sky.
