Bobcat Women's Tennis Team Fall to UTSA

The University of Texas at San Antonio captured four of six singles matches, en route to a 5-2 win over the Montana State women's tennis team, Friday morning at the Air Force Academy.

The Roadrunners won the doubles point as its No. 1 tandem of Micela Silva and Vivian Carrillo edged MSU's Andrea De La Torre and Charlotta Hjalmarsson 9-7.

MSU got back into the match with wins at No. 2 and 4 singles, behind the efforts of Laura Villegas and Jennifer Coll.

“There was a point in the match where I thought we had it, but give UTSA credit for getting the win,” said MSU head coach Denise Albrecht. “I thought Laura Villegas and Jennifer Coll each had strong matches. We came up just short at No. 3 and 5 singles.”

UTSA won hard-fought three-set decisions at No. 3 and 5 singles.

MSU will face Air Force on Saturday morning.
