Bobcat Student-Athletes Record 17th Straight Semester of Team Grade Point Average over 3.0

Montana State student-athletes recorded their 17th consecutive semester of team grade point average over 3.0 this spring.
This year's average team GPAof 3.23 was the highest recorded in the 17 semester run. The highest team GPA for spring 2010 was recorded by women's cross country with a 3.59. The team GPA is an average of all the individual team grade point averages.

In addition to the high team GPA, 24 student-athletes were honored on the President's List with a perfect 4.0 semester GPA. Sixteen additional student-athletes received all A's or A-minuses for the semester. A total of 80 student-athletes made the Dean's List with an individual GPA or 3.5-3.99. An additional 77 student-athletes earned a GPA of 3.0-3.49.
“The academic accomplishment of our student-athletes is not something the public sees as much as their athletic achievements,” Director of Athletics Peter Fields said. “But, we as a staff see it consistently and are extremely proud of this piece of our program. This continued academic success is a credit to the caliber of student-athletes at MSU and to our coaches who are recruiting them. We believe that our student-athletes' success in the classroom equates to higher athletic performance, and our coaches and staff are working hard to bring excellence to competition as well as the classroom.”
