Montana State head golf coach Leslie Spalding announced the addition of two top high school golfers to the MSU golf program for next year.
Paige Crawford, from Colorado Springs, Colorado signed a national letter of intent to play golf for the ‘Cats. Crawford placed sixth in the King’s Deer Junior Championships scoring a 163 (36 holes) and third in the Green Valley Junior Ranch Championships in September with a score of 162. She attends Doherty High School.
Crawford wrapped up her second consecutive Metro League title shooting a two-under-par 72 at the Lady Terror Invitational in April. She placed tenth in the state meet as a junior, and is rated in the Top 20 in the Colorado Junior Golf Association. Crawford has also played basketball for three years.
“Paige brings a very refreshing ambition and unrelenting attitude to play her best on every shot,” coach Spalding said. “Her scores have improved dramatically this year, and I can see her being a major contributor to the team right away.”
Spalding also announced that Butte High’s Ashleigh Ogolin will play for MSU next season. Ogolin was the 2009 Montana state AA champion.
“Ashley has the potential to shoot low scores and we’re excited to get another player from Montana in our program,” Spalding said.
