Bobcat forward Branden Johnson earned NABC academic honors
Montana State forward Branden Johnson, who played as a senior in 2009-10, was named to the Honors Court as one of the top student-athletes in college basketball, the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced.
Johnson qualified for the honor by posting a grade point of 3.20 or better as a varsity player of junior or senior class standing in a four-year NCAA or NAIA men’s basketball program. The Yakima, WA, native averaged 10.2 points and 5.6 rebounds for the Bobcats as a senior last season, leading the team with 20 blocked shots and hitting 91 three-pointers.
The power forward has been a fixture on MSU academic honor rolls. He is a four-time Academic All-Big Sky choice.
Johnson is one of just five Big Sky players and 185 NCAA Division I players nationally to earn this award.
