Hand-sewn "Are You a Bobcat" quilt made by Peter and Deb Fields to be auctioned at Blue and Gold Fall Party
With much excitement and anticipation after a highly successful 2010 event, the 2011 Blue and Gold Fall Party, will surely be another great night for the Bobcat Club and Montana State University.
This year's event features a silent auction, offering several items including a one-of-a-kind quilt produced by Director of Athletics Peter Fields and his wife, Deb and quilted by Deb Frain.
The 60x72” quilt, entitled “Are You a Bobcat?” was made to recognize the 2011 stadium expansion project and football season. Valued at $1,500, the handmade creation is based on a window box pattern and features the 2011 “Are You a Bobcat” campaign photograph of Shane Robison, DeNarius McGhee, Clay Bignell, Tanner Bleskin and Leo Davis which were hand-stitched for a three-dimensional effect.
The quilt was constructed using 100% cotton high-quality batik fabrics.
“Deb and I saw this as something fun that we could do together,” said Fields. “But most importantly, we wanted to create a piece that represents the success of the End Zone Project and our Football program and provide a way to help raise money for scholarships.”
The Blue and Gold Party will take place Friday, Oct. 28, at 6:00 p.m., at the GranTree Inn, and will include wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres and the music of Jake Koelzer and friends. Tickets are $20 for Bobcat Club members and $30 for non-members. Please call the Bobcat Club Office at 406.994.3741 to RSVP.
