Bobcat Spikers Split Weekend Series in Bakersfield

After dropping a 3-1 decision to Cal State Bakersfield on Friday, the Montana State volleyball team had one of its best offensive showings of the season routing the Roadrunners 26-24, 25-19, 25-12, Saturday night.

After dropping a 3-1 decision to Cal State Bakersfield on Friday, the Montana State volleyball team had one of its best offensive showings of the season routing the Roadrunners 26-24, 25-19, 25-12, Saturday night.
As a team, Montana State (4-23) hit .276 from the field, including a .857 attack mark from Taylar Barney, who pounded down six kills.
Senior Rachelle Allen paced the Bobcats with a team-high 10 kills, while adding a .304 attack mark, six digs and two blocks. The Bobcats also received a strong contribution from Chelsea Oemcke, who notched seven kills, a .467 hitting percentage and three blocks.
Junior setter Jennifer Lundquist quarterbacked the win with 30 assists and a team-best five blocks. Defensively, MSU was led by Sarah Horton with 11 digs.
Cal State Bakersfield (8-18) was led by Haleigh Haratyk with 17 kills and seven digs.
On Friday, the Roadrunners handed MSU a 25-20, 23-25, 27-25, 25-17 setback. Bobcat middle blocker Alex Penewell registered a career-high 15 kills for MSU.
Montana State will conclude its season this weekend in Shroyer Gym when it hosts Weber State and Idaho State.
