Bobcats Add Dynamic Guards, Local Big Man

Former Bozeman Hawk Patrick Webb, guard duo join MSU program
Montana State basketball became more dynamic in the backcourt while adding size and a local flavor to the frontcourt Tuesday, when Brad Huse announced the addition of junior college guard Christian Moon, prep standout Mike Dison, and former Bozeman High big man Patrick Webb to the Bobcat program.
Huse also indicated that Chris McCall is no longer in the program after becoming academically ineligible following the spring semester. McCall averaged 2.6 points and 1.5 rebounds in his 26 games as a freshman in 2010-11.
A 6-2 guard from Henry Ford Community College in Detroit, Moon established himself as one of the top three-point shooters nationally in the junior college ranks last year. He led the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) in three-point shooting, connecting on 53 percent of his shots (52-for-99). He shot 54% from the field as a sophomore, and in his two-year career shot .503 from the arc. Originally from Inkster, Mich., Moon averaged 19.9 points at Truman High as a senior, and scored 11.2 points a game as a freshman at Henry Ford. He joins his former HFCC teammate Jamie Stewart, who signed at MSU last fall, in the Bobcat program.
“We stayed in close contact with Christian all season and when it became apparent that we had a roster spot opening up at his spot we made a run at him. He's obviously a proven shooter but he's not one dimensional as he is also a very good athlete and can finish in traffic at the rim. He can score but he's not a high volume type shooter, he's just very efficient and that will blend nicely with our returners and newcomers. Christian is a great kid and a great student and he'll fit in well at Montana State.”
Dison, a 5-9 guard from Spring, Tex., registered 17 points, four assists and 3.5 rebounds per outing for Dekaney High. He earned Co-MVP honors of Houston's District 13 5A League, helping lead his squad sweep through the conference with a 14-0 mark while compiling a 31-6 overall record. Dison earned First Team 5A All-State honors, was named Second Team All-Houston by the Houston Chronicle, and was named his league's player of the year by other media outlets, and was tabbed for a pair of summer all-star games.
“We're confident that we have solid veterans in the backcourt, and adding Mike gives us a dynamic player that has tremendous skills and yet someone who we can take some time in developing physically,” Huse said. “He is a extremely quick and can really shoot and pass the basketball. He also has a knack for getting into the creases and scoring around the basket. We were fortunate to get involved with Mike and I'm looking forward to watching him progress. He has a chance to be a high octane player for us.”
A former Bozeman High standout, Webb averaged 3.9 points and 3.4 rebounds for 23-8 Gillette (Wyo.) College last season. As a freshman in 2009-10, the 6-7 center tallied 2.7 points and 2.5 rebounds a game, shooting 51.5% from the floor on the season. He joins the program as a walk-on.
