Javier Martin-Morillas wins Big Sky kudos
Montana State sophomore Javier Martin-Morillas earned Big Sky Men's Tennis Player of the Week honors for his performance last weekend in Portland, the league announced on Tuesday.
Martin-Morillas, from Villanueva de la Canada, Spain, led the Bobcats to a Big Sky road win at Portland State on Sunday by earning singles and doubles victories. The wins came in dramatically different fashion.
Martin-Morillas teamed with Prithiv Sivasumbramaniam to post a come-from-behind 9-8 win over Portland State in doubles play, then posted a dominating 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles. He finished 1-1 in both singles and doubles on the weekend, dropping matches at the University of Portland on Friday.
Montana State visits the Beehive State this weekend, playing at BYU (Friday), Utah (Saturday) and Utah State (Sunday).
