Bobcat Women’s Tennis Team Adds Third Montana State Champ to Roster

Molly Crum, who captured the Class AA Montana State singles title last week for Great Falls High, will become a member of the Montana State University women’s tennis team this fall; announced Bobcat head coach Denise Albrecht.
Molly Crum, who captured the Class AA Montana State singles title last week for Great Falls High, will become a member of the Montana State University women's tennis team this fall; announced Bobcat head coach Denise Albrecht.
Crum, a four-time all-state selection for the Bison, posted a 23-1 record this spring, en route to her first state title. She will join sister Ellie (2009, 2010) and Liana Bates of Kalispell Glacier (2011) as past Montana Class AA high school singles champions on the current Bobcat roster.
“We're excited to have Molly join our program,” Albrecht said. “Our Montana kids are the foundation of our program. They come in ready to compete and play for every single point.”
During her tenure in the Blue and White, Crum posted a four-year mark of 74-8. In addition, she will become a four-time all-state academic selection. Crum is a two-time team MVP and a past divisional singles champion. Crum guided her GFHS squads to top three team finishes at the Montana Class AA state tournament all four seasons.
Crum will also bring regional experience to the MSU roster. She was a member of the 12, 14, and 16-U zonal teams for the intermountain section and was a junior team tennis member at nationals, held in Alabama in 2010.
Crum also competed in cross country for four seasons at Great Falls High.
The Crum siblings are the first sisters to capture Montana state singles titles since current MSU head coach Denise Albrecht (1978) and sister Kristin Albrecht (1974, 1975) accomplished the feat 35-years ago.
She is the daughter of Dave and Darcy Crum of Great Falls.
