
Crum and Reinking Named Academic All-District VII First-Team

Montana State tennis standout Ellie Crum and All-American skier Tyler Reinking have been named to the Capital One/CoSIDA District VII Academic At-Large First-Team for their efforts on the playing field and in the classroom.
Montana State tennis standout Ellie Crum and All-American skier Tyler Reinking have been named to the Capital One/CoSIDA District VII Academic At-Large First-Team for their efforts on the playing field and in the classroom.
Crum, a junior from Great Falls who sports a 4.00 grade-point average in exercise science, posted a team-best 11-6 overall mark and a 7-3 Big Sky ledger in singles this spring. In addition, she went 9-4 at No. 4 singles and was 3-0 at No. 3 doubles. A three-time All-Big Sky Conference Academic honoree, Crum led the Bobcats to the quarterfinals of the league tournament this season.
Reinking, a first-year graduate student from Silverthorne, Colo., posted a 3.98 grade-point average in exercise science. The past winter, he guided the Bobcats to a ninth place finish at the NCAA Skiing Championships, finishing 15th overall in the Nordic freestyle event. Reinking was a 2012 Capital One Academic All-America At-Large First-Team pick. He garnered All America honors at the 2012 NCAA Skiing Championships. Reinking completed the 2013 campaign ranked seventh in the RMISA MVP standings.
The 2012-13 Capital One Academic All-District ® At-Large Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. At-Large honorees represent the sports of skiing, fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo and wrestling.
First-team Academic All-District ® honorees advance to the Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
Since the 1976 season, Montana State has produced thirty-four Academic All-Americans.
