Eleven games televised in 2013, with the 12th a strong possibility
BOZEMAN, Mont. – Eleven of Montana State's 12 football games in 2013 have landed statewide television homes and the possibility of a television opportunity for the final game remains strong, the school's Director of Athletics Peter Fields announced on Monday.
The Bobcats' season opener on Thursday, Aug. 29, and its Sept. 14 home matchup with Colorado Mesa will be televised on Max Media stations across Montana, the school's long-time television partner. That places seven of the team's 11 available contests on Max Media, with four on regional network ROOT Sports. Television plans for Montana State's Sept. 7 game at SMU will be announced later in the summer.
The addition of Monmouth and Colorado Mesa to the lineup gives Max Media three of MSU's four non-league games, including the highly-anticipated season-opening Gold Rush game on the final Thursday night in August and a matchup at national power Stephen F. Austin. MSU's 2013 Big Sky season also begins on Max Media when the Bobcats visit North Dakota on Sept. 28.
The Bobcats are featured prominently on this year's previously-announced ROOT Sports Big Sky Conference package. MSU's first appearance is October 19 at Weber State, which begins a stretch of four games over the season's final six weeks for the Bobcats on ROOT. Road games at Northern Colorado (Nov. 2) and Eastern Washington (Nov. 9), and the regular season finale against Montana in Bobcat Stadium are all televised by ROOT.
Max Media stations around the state will also carry MSU's Bobcat Sports Report this fall, hosted by Jeff Eberle.
