Bobcats Welcome Reinforcements After Bye Week

Tight end Austin Barth among those slated for 2015 debut on Saturday
Rob Ash had some reconstruction work on Montana State's depth chart Monday, and it was largely a positive process.
Five players returned to the depth chart after missing MSU's season opener, led by junior tight end Austin Barth. The Columbia Falls product suffered through an emergency appendectomy late in the summer, and joins the depth chart as the second tight end.
Other depth chart changes, which come after the Bobcats' open week and before the early-season non-conference showdown with Eastern Washington, occur on defense. Sophomore end Devin Jeffries, sophomore linebacker Blake Braun (who is listed at the Mike spot this week), sophomore safety Khari Garcia and freshman corner Tre'von Strong are each scheduled to play for the first time in 2015. "We add some quality depth this week," Ash said. "It will be good to have each of those guys back."
The Bobcat secondary saw additional shuffling this week. Ash announced that reserve safety Bryson McCabe will miss Saturday's game at Eastern Washington with an injury. Cornerback Braelen Evans has been cleared to practice after missing spring and fall camps with an injury, while Ash also indicated that Zach Stern has been cleared to practice and play this week, and has moved from linebacker to cornerback.
Montana State's contest at Eastern Washington begins at 2:10 pm MT Saturday, and is televised on ROOT Sports.
