• UC Davis held MSU to nine first downs, the fewest by a Bobcat team since the 2000 contest against Weber State
• Montana State is -5 in turnovers through three games
• MSU has accrued 78 more penalty yards than its opponents
• The Bobcat punt cover unit has allowed just six yards on four punt returns
• Montana State ran 50 offensive plays Saturday, its fewest since running 47 plays in the 27-20 championship-clinching win over the Grizzlies in 2003, and the 131 total plays in last week's game was MSU’s fewest since the ‘Cats and Griz combined for 128 in 2003 • MSU gained just two yards rushing on Saturday, the lowest single-game total since McNeese State held the Bobcats to -3 yards in the 2002 Division I-AA Playoffs
INDIVIDUAL NOTES/PLAYER OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
OFFENSE: none
OTHER NOTES: Isaiah Taito’s team-leading 20 rushing yards on Saturday would have been the lowest total to lead the team in rushing during the 2005 season… Bobcat quarterbacks have been sacked only six times through three games… Tyler Lulay made his first catches as a Bobcat last weekend
DEFENSE: none
OTHER NOTES: Bobby Daly registered eight tackles Saturday to lead the Bobcats for the second time in three games… Daly’s 25 total tackles and 3.5 for a loss both lead the team… Andre Fuller has broken up four passes this year
SPECIAL TEAMS: none
OTHER NOTES: MSU is third in the league in kickoff return average and has allowed the lowest average punt return (0.4) in the Big Sky… Jeff Hastings did not get on the field last weekend… he has hit all 15 of his field goal attempts inside 40 yards as a Bobcat… Hastings’ six career field goals of 40 yards or longer is tied for third in school history with Anders Larsson… Hastings hit two field goals over 40 yards vs. CU, the second time in school history for that feat, and his four FGs tied an MSU single-game record
