Justin Pennel joined Montana State Athletics in December 2019 and currently serves as Associate Director for Sports Facilities. In his role, he oversees the Sports Facilities management team, day-to-day operations, and event planning processes, while also managing capital improvement projects that enhance the overall experience for student-athletes, fans, and visitors.
Before arriving in Bozeman, Justin gained extensive experience in facility and event management across several institutions and venues. He served as Arena Event Manager with SMG at the Tucson Arena from 2016 to 2019, Athletic Event and Facilities Manager at Salt Lake Community College from 2013 to 2016, and Athletic Event and Membership Coordinator at the University of Idaho from 2012 to 2013.
A graduate of Northern Arizona University, Justin earned his bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation Management in 2012 before completing a master’s degree in Sport Management from American Public University in 2015.
Justin and his wife, Megan, reside in Bozeman.
