Sam Van Horssen serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Budget & Finance for Montana State Athletics, a role she began in July 2022. In this position, Van Horssen supports the department’s financial operations by managing budgeting and reporting, procurement processes, student employee payroll, revenue share tracking, hospitality documentation, ACH setups, relocation reimbursements, and camp financial reporting, including payroll for coaches and athletic trainers.
Prior to joining Bobcat Athletics, Van Horssen spent nearly a decade with Montana State Campus Recreation (formerly Recreational Sports and Fitness), where she held a variety of roles. From 2019 to 2022, she served as Recreation Coordinator overseeing business operations, camps, membership services, facility reservations, and event planning. She also held graduate and undergraduate positions from 2013 to 2019 focused on aquatics, intramurals, club sports, and camp programming.
Van Horssen is a two-time graduate of Montana State University. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an early childhood concentration in 2016 and a Master of Education in Adult and Higher Education, specializing in Student Affairs, in 2019.
